About Summer Program

"Cultivating Community and Culture: Summer Experiential Research Program"

The Summer Program is scheduled from June 2 (Sunday) to June 29 (Saturday). The participants should plan to check in the UNM Residence Hall between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm on June 2 and check out between 7:00 am and 11:00 am on June 29 (Saturday). 

All participants must stay in the Alvarado Hall arranged by the UNM MMUF program. All students will room with another student. 

What is provided?

  • Accommodation at the UNM Residence Hall
  • Meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner) during the program dates at the UNM La Posada Dining Hall
  • Special event cost (admissions fees, etc.)

What is not covered?

  • Round-trip travel costs
  • Local transportation to and from the UNM campus
  • Personal expenses during weekends and free time
  • Health Insurance

Students in the Summer Program aim to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Develop robust research project plans;
  • Enhance skills for academic writing and reading;
  • Explore a diverse academic environment at a Research 1, and HSI institution;
  • Cultivate a network of fellows from different institutions and disciplines;
  • Strengthen motivation to pursue a PhD and achieve career goals;
  • Understand the value of community-engaged research; and
  • Increase readiness for the graduate school application process.
